Welcome to the Carrigallen parish website.

We hope our website is an interesting and worthwhile location for parishioners and visitors to keep up to date with what’s happening in our parish. We welcome in a special way all natives of Carrigallen, Drumeela and Drumreilly who are living elsewhere in Ireland or scattered throughout the world. We hope that this website will help to keep you in touch with your native parish. We also hope that those whose parents or ancestors come from this parish will learn more about their ancestral home.

The parish of Carrigallen, including Drumeela and Drumreilly, is located in South Leitrim and forms part of the Diocese of Kilmore. It’s tucked in between Longford, Cavan and Ballinamore. The Church areas of Carrigallen and Drumeela were one parish and then joined by Drumreilly Church area in 1972. Drumreilly was a parish in its own right until 1969 when it was amalgamated with Lower Drumreilly and Corlough. The three Churches in the parish are dedicated to St. Mary. The village of Newtowngore and the town of Carrigallen are part of our parish.

As a parish we welcome anyone who wishes to join us for worship and active involvement in parish life. Our parish strives to be welcoming and encouraging to all.
